PRESS RELEASE September 17, 2026
Tracy, CA—Tracy Earth Project, a local environmental non-profit, is calling on local residents, students, businesses, community groups, and environmental supporters to volunteer for a community tree-planting event on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in recognition of California Clean Air Day.
The organizations are seeking volunteers of all ages and experience levels to help plant trees and contribute to a healthier, greener Tracy. No special gardening or tree-planting experience is required. Volunteers will be provided with guidance and hands-on instruction.
“It’s amazing what we as a community can do when we come together and get involved,” said Dotty Nygard, Founder of Tracy Earth Project. “This isn't just about planting trees—we are improving air quality, providing shade, reducing heat, supporting wildlife, and strengthening the local urban forest.”
The October 3 event is part of the community's recognition of California Clean Air Day on October 7, a statewide effort encouraging Californians to take action for cleaner air. Volunteer hours are available for students and others who need community service hours.
